Last week, I introduced my Follow Friday Fourteen. It was a random selection of some of my favorite people to follow.
This week, I decided to highlight some of the rockstars from Chicago. I’m sure many of you are already following some or most of these people, but for the few that aren’t – start here.
You can also find all of my recommendations on this list: My Follow Friday. Some local folks were highlighted last week, too, but Chicago is so full of rock stars I had to do a separate list, too!
@kurtvan Kurt is not only a really enthusiastic guy, but a smart one at that. As a connected Gaspedal guy, he’s in the know. But my favorite tweets are the ones with lots of !!! about sports, family, Chicago, etc.
@wiredprworks Barb and I go way back but I don’t think either of us can recall how we actually met. Her PR work is great, but her founding of the Social Media Club in Chicago really helped a lot of us like-minded people connect.
@allanschoenberg The work Allan has done with the CME group is impressive enough. But it’s his human interactions on Twitter that are really fun to follow.
@chicagodiane Another enthusiastic Chicagoan, Diane has a great way of connecting people and ideas.
@benwhat Ben’s a recent discovery for me. Nice insight into media, customer experience, and more – all with a Chicago bent!
@ramon_deleon Ramon is passionate! About pizza! And social media! And helping others! And being a great guy!!
@interactiveamy Although we’ve been connected virtually for a while, Amy’s real life presence is just as awesome. She is another leader at SMC Chicago and fun, funny and vibrant.
@abbyharenberg Yes, Abby is a great photographer, but she’s also great at interacting with people on Twitter. If you haven’t already checked out her photos, do so. She’s talented.
@simasays Sima says a whole bunch of stuff that matters. She is always honest, fun, friendly…and SMART. Her Marketing Job Wire idea has become a great source to connect jobs with people. Her Sway Factor presentations focus on using social media for your personal brand. And she’s Chicago all the way.
@barrymoltz Barry is so full of great ideas for entrepreneurs he keeps writing books! His books are all well done, but my personal favorite is his latest – BAM! His focus on customer service is of course a sweet spot for me.
@thelocaltourist Follow these tweets to see Chicago in a whole new light. Be in the know about everything and appreciate our city that much more!
@windycitysocial WCS hosts great events about all sorts of things and Hope is always informing her followers about cool stuff. Another Chicago must!
@sernovitz Andy is basically the Mayor of Word-of-Mouth-ville. Great ideas, content, connections.
@jwillie Sharepoint? He’s your guy. Chicago events – Jeff’s at ALL of them. Seriously – I’m pretty sure he’s figured out how to clone himself. Follow him to feel like you’re there, too.
While this list is about local Tweeps they all provide great information for all. Thanks to each of them for giving me something to look forward to on Twitter on a regular basis, and for keeping me in the Loop! ![]()
